NEIGHBORHOOD INFO
Bernal Heights is a beautiful, village-style neighborhood tucked away in the southern part of the City.  The district has narrow streets, colorful houses and great views.  The main hub of the neighborhood is Cortland Avenue and along this strip there are several great restaurants and bars, an organic grocery, a library, a yoga studio, a pet store, a specialty gift store, and a bookshop.   Bernal has 3 parks: Precita Park, Bernal Hill and Holly Park.  The views on top of Bernal Hill are breathtaking.  The Bernal Heights neighborhood has a long history of activism.  From the 1860’s legend of Widow O’Brien’s cow to the 1970’s fight that saved the hill’s crest from development, Bernal residents have tirelessly guarded their environment.  Bernal Heights is a diverse, tight-knit community.  Over the decades it has grown into a vital, vibrant neighborhood.
